Patience
Our favourite holding period is: forever.
It is our selection process that sets us apart from the rest. All funds use the proprietary Teaminvest methodology, which was developed in-house and tried and tested by more than 500 successful investors. The Teaminvest methodology is based on the work of Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffet, the world's most successful investor. It requires potential investments to pass through a series of hurdles, utilising a collaborative approach to analyse its commercial features. The methodology aims to go beyond the simple risk/ reward analysis conducted by other funds; it aims to understand how and why an investment makes money, and to identify risk that could endanger future revenues, yields and profit.
While each fund has its unique and specific objectives, this methodology has a proven history of generating strong and stable returns across a range of asset classes.
We run businesses
We are better investors because we run real businesses and better business people because we are investors.
Our "One Team" Approach
Our funds invest in various asset classes; Australian and Global shares, property, debt, private equity transactions, options and more. Understanding these investment options requires unique skills and years of experience. However, one of our biggest differences as an investment manager is experience - real experience in running a business, building property, lending our own money, and borrowing.
We are better investors because we run real businesses and we're better business people because we are investors. Every month, in addition to impromptu investment transaction reviews, our entire team is invited to participate in our fund allocation and investment committee meeting. We know that our equities team will be able to add value when considering property transactions, and we know our property team will have unique insights into the performance of companies within that sector. Cross-pollination and diversity of thought combined with the tried and tested investment philosophy focused on value creation deliver a unique and compelling investment team that anyone can invest in.
Monthly Investment Committee Meeting
Our entire team is invited to participate or observe ensuring that our mission of transferring knowledge between generations is adhered to inside and out.
We consider the learnings from our fellow TeamInvest members.
...and review our flagship Conscious Investor Fund equities portfolio in line with our proven methodology.
We then consider these recent learnings and apply them to our other equity-holding funds (Teaminvest Access and Corinthian Balanced)
We finalise our recommended trades and shift to the next asset class.
Our equity team is invited to stay as we move on to discuss our other asset classes including real property, debt, cash, fixed interest and private equity.
We finalise our fund allocations for Private Equity, Future Property and the non-equity investments for our other funds and then break for lunch!
